Undergraduates: From Application to the First Day of Class

Admissions deadline is 2-weeks before the start of classes. This allows for the minimum amount of time for a student to complete the following steps.

Step 1: Get Started

Apply

Fill out and submit your SKC Admission Application Form

You’ll receive an email from SKC Admissions with important next steps in your undergraduate admissions process.

While waiting on your acceptance letter make sure to complete your Placement Assessments and Financial Aid Application.

You do not need to log in to submit an application.

Request a Student Email

After you have been successfully accepted to SKC you can request an SKC student email account. A link to the SKC Student Email Request form will be sent to you along with your acceptance email. After filling out the form you will be notified of your new email account at the personal email address you provided in your SKC Admissions Application.

Placement Assessments

Complete online Placement Assessments.

All new and transferring full-time and part-time students who have not accumulated 30 quarter credits are required to take a Placement Assessment test that assesses skills in reading, English, and mathematics, prior to pre-registration. We are currently providing these tests online after the Placement Intake Form has been completed.

Advisors must have the results from Placement Assessments before registration for classes can occur.

Apply for Financial Aid

This is important for more than federal student aid. Financial aid information is also essential when applying for scholarships and private education loans.

Advising can be from your Academic Department or the Department of Academic Success' Success Team (successteam@skc.edu)

Register for Classes

Advisors will email the Registrars Office with classes or students can take a paper copy signed by their Advisor to the Registrar.

The Registrar can be found in the Robert Depoe III building.

Get Your Books

Order the books for your classes from the online bookstore.

Step 3: Get Ready for Classes

Set Up Digital Accounts

After you completed NSO (in Step: 2), have met with your advisor, and your course registration has been finalized, your Student Digital Accounts will be set up and emailed to your student email account.

Brightspace can be accessed beginning the first day of the quarter from the MySKC - Student Resource Portal.

Class schedules can be found in JICS under "Student Resources" and "Student Schedule"

  • Both mandatory trainings must be completed by the end of your first quarter at SKC
